This book is the collection of writings of Plotinus (c. 204/5 – 270), who was a major Greek-speaking philosopher of the ancient world. He was a student of Ammonius Saccas and they were founders of Neoplatonism. It contains fifty-four treatises. The Ennead, the Greek word for nine. Ennead is also used generally to refer to other groups of ancient gods.
